Depth of field

Depth of field it shows how much your image is in focus, it can be controlled by changing the aperture.

Small aperture will show full depth of field , witch mean most of the picture is in focus.

Wide aperture will give shallow depth of field ,small amount of focus in the image.

The reason the we change it , is that it shows your creativity and also if you want to photography something or someone that is in a busy environment you don't want people to look at the picture and see everything behind the person but at the thing you wanted to photograph.
